The Bob Rex Trio has entertained audiences for over 30 years at jazz venues such as Rusty's and the Village Idiot. The trio, led by drummer Bob Rex a Defiance native, presents a play list of traditional jazz, ballads, and blues.

Pianist Nathan Carterette has distinguished himself by performing a wide range of works from Elizabethan keyboard to contemporary music. Performing all over the United States and in Germany, Carterette has premiered works by MacMillan, Llewelyn, and Kim.

October 15, 7:30 p.m. ~ DCCC 2015-2016 Performance Series Presents Harpeth Rising, Historic Valentine Theater

With a banjo, fiddle, hand drum, and cello, Harpeth Rising returns to Defiance. Harpeth Rising is a little bit bluegrass, folk, classical, and a whole lot original. Named for a small but powerful river in Tennessee, this trio fuses folk, newgrass, rock, and classical music into a unique sound.

The Toledo Jazz Orchestra is one of the finest jazz ensembles in the country. Performing for over 30 years, the band has worked with jazz legends past and present and performs works of all the major bands of the past eight decades.

The Big Band Sound of the DCCB features big band classics, including the music of Miller and Ellington. Always a favorite with Defiance audiences, the band is composed of area musicians who have a love of big band music.

February 28, 7:00 p.m. ~ DCCC 2015-2016 Performance Series Presents Osbun-Manley & Ashmore, Stroede Center for the Arts

Soprano Kirsten Osbun-Manley and baritone Lance Ashmore perform an evening of song. Both are faculty members of Ohio Northern University and have extensive experience in performing a wide genre of music from art songs to opera to musical theater.

Kathryn Umble, flutist, and Francois Fowler, guitarist, form an unusual duo whose name means "two going forward, continuing to grow." Performing all over the United States, their repertoire includes traditional and modern works for flute and guitar.

March 31, 7:30 p.m. ~ DCCC 2015-2016 Performance Series Presents Tom Daugherty Big Band, Historic Valentine Theater

The Tom Daugherty Orchestra has soared to new heights performing arrangements of original Big Band swing music. Daugherty, a trombonist, has played with the Jimmy Dorsey Band, the Tommy Dorsey Band, the Stan Kenton Orchestra and has performed with artists such as Maynard Ferguson and Dizzy Gillespie.
