Always fun for summer entertainment, Bud Widmer's Rube Band performs in conjunction with an ice cream social sponsored by the Defiance Senior Center. Event is free and open to the public.
September 15, 7:30 p.m. ~ DCCC Performance Series Presents Dwight Lenox & Lenox Avenue Express, Gathering Place (Historic Valentine Theater)
From blues to ballads and jazz to swing, Dwight Lenox & the Lenox Avenue Express shine. Lenox's vocals and the bands' smooth style lend to a vast repertoire from Nat King Cole to Frank Sinatra to Stevie Wonder to Lou Rawls.
September 18, 7:00 p.m. ~ DCCC Performance Series Presents Cosmos, Stroede Center for the Arts
The flute, viola, and harp ensemble Cosmos was founded with the goal of exploring music for this magical combination of instruments. This unique trio enjoys playing classics such as Ravel and music commissioned specifically for Cosmos.
October 20, 7:30 p.m. ~ DCCC Performance Series Presents Good Lovelies, Gathering Place (Historic Valentine Theater)
This award winning Canadian folk/country harmony trio is known for its winsome songwriting and impeccable vocals. Funny and upbeat, the Good Lovelies return to Defiance proving their band of folk music has universal appeal.
November 13, 7:00 p.m. ~ DCCC Performance Series Presents Bezonian Trio, Stroede Center for the Arts
Comprised of pianist Michael Boyd, violinist Merwin Sui, and cellist Damon Coleman, the Bezonian Trio has delighted audiences with its musicality and energetic programs featuring classic music by Beethoven, Dvorak, and Shostakovich.
November 17, 7:30 p.m. ~ DCCC Performance Series Presents Cakewalkin' Jass Band, Gathering Place (Historic Valentine Theater)
The Cakewalkin' Jass Band performs authentic New Orleans style jazz. The band, founded in 1967, was a fixture at Tony Packo's Cafe and has also performed at Ragtime Rick's and Murphy's Jazz Club. The band returns to Defiance bringing its infectious love of jazz music.
December 4, 7:00 p.m. ~ DCCC Performance Series Presents Moody Flutes, Stroede Center for the Arts
Performing since 1994, the Moody Flutes perform a repertoire which includes sacred, classical, jazz, patriotic, and even Celtic music. Their rich sound incorporates the deep bass, smoky alto, and bright concert flutes with the sweet piccolo. Kick off the holiday season with this Christmas performance.
January 29, 7:00 p.m. ~ DCCC Performance Series Presents Duo 1717, Stroede Center for the Arts
Baritone John Cerin and pianist Veena Kulharni established Duo 1717 in 2014. This classical crossover duo synthesizes their Indian-Filipino-American and Haitian backgrounds to explore music from all over the globe.
February 11, 7:30 p.m. ~ DCCC Performance Series Presents Big Band Sound of the DCCB, Defiance Eagles
The Big Band Sound of the DCCB features big band classics, including the music of Miller and Ellington. Always a favorite with Defiance audiences, the band is composed of area musicians who have a love of big band music.
March 12, 7:00 p.m. ~ DCCC Performance Series Presents Aebersold & Neiweem, Stroede Center for the Arts
Aebersold & Neiweem are internationally known exponents of music for both piano duet and two keyboards. The repertoire of these keyboard artists runs the gamut from Mozart to Brahms to contemporary composers.

Clear Fork Bluegrass Quartet, founded in 1984, is a blend of folk, bluegrass, and traditional country and American fiddle music. From fiery banjo instrumentals to sweet country waltzes, Clear Fork's affection for traditional American music emerges.
